PORCELAIN VENEERS
Teeth can be abraded or lost due to major decay, traumas and other reasons. Due to these abrasions and missing teeth, chewing functions and aesthetic problems occur over time. Porcelain veneers, a treatment method to eliminate tooth abrasions that are sometimes too large to be treated with dental filling methods and sometimes to eliminate missing teeth, is an application that covers the tooth just like a mould and aims to eliminate abrasions and gaps.
How is the substrate of porcelain veneers made?
The substrate of the porcelain veneer can consist of different materials. Metal-supported porcelain veneers are made by placing a metal alloy under the porcelain. Click here for more detailed information about metal-supported porcelain veneers.
Zirconium-supported porcelain veneers are prostheses that use zirconium alloy, which has a white colour, instead of metal as a substructure. Click here for more detailed information about zirconium-supported porcelain veneers.
In addition to the metal and zirconium-supported porcelain veneers, porcelains can also be entirely used in the substrates of porcelain veneers. These are called Emax veneers or full porcelain, and made of bonded porcelain. No metal or other material is used in the substructure, as its name signifies. Compared to other porcelain veneers, full porcelain veneers, which have a higher cost, have the aesthetic appearance closest to natural teeth. Click here for more detailed information about Emax veneers (full porcelain).
